Precision Bench Repairs for PlayStation, Xbox & Nintendo Consoles
Every console brought to our shop undergoes an immediate intake power-on test to verify its status before any work begins. If your console turns on and displays standard status lights, we proceed directly with our flat-rate port or thermal service. If a system exhibits no power, boot-looping, or unknown failure symptoms, it enters our structured Root Cause Analysis (RCA) diagnostic workflow.

What We Handle on Our Console Repair Bench
Component-level hardware maintenance, thermal service, and modular replacements for modern gaming systems.
The Nintendo Switch fundamentally integrates charging and display output together, because of this, if diagnostic testing reveals underlying power chip damage (such as a blown BQ24193 charging IC or M92T36 power management chip), we will provide an updated repair estimate before proceeding.
Liquid metal on the PlayStation 5 APU oxidizes and migrates over time, creating dry spots that cause rapid overheating. During PS5 repairs, we meticulously clean the oxidation and oxide barrier, surface-prep the copper heatsink die, and evenly respread the factory liquid metal. We avoid unnecessarily stripping away good liquid metal to eliminate chemical waste and prevent dangerous spill risks.
While we service specialized or high-value Pro Controllers, standard wireless controller analog stick replacements often cost more in bench labor than buying a new controller. We recommend replacing standard controllers unless there is personal or sentimental value worth preserving!
Our Console Warranty & Board Repair Transparency
-
1-Year Workmanship Warranty: We stand behind our bench soldering 100%. If a repair fails due to an issue with our soldering, alignment, or technical workmanship, we cover the full repair under our 1-year shop warranty. (Note: Warranties cover workmanship defects and do not cover new physical damage, yanked cables, drops, or liquid spills).
-
Board Trace Diagnostics: If an HDMI or USB-C port was ripped off the motherboard during a drop, the delicate copper circuit traces underneath may be torn. Because board traces can only be visually inspected once the damaged port is removed under a microscope, we will contact you immediately with a trace repair estimate (+$20 per trace) if damage is found.
Flat-Rate Console Repair Services & Upfront Pricing
We believe in complete pricing transparency for common hardware repairs:
| Service Category | Flat-Rate Pricing | What Is Included |
| Standard Console HDMI Port | $130 | Micro-soldering HDMI port replacement for PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S consoles. |
| PlayStation 5 HDMI Port | $140 | High-temp HDMI port replacement plus specialized liquid metal oxidation cleaning and respreading. |
| Nintendo Switch USB-C Port | $140 | Precision USB-C port replacement for Nintendo Switch (Standard, Lite, and OLED models). |
| Deep Thermal Cleaning & Repaste | $110 | Complete internal teardown, dust removal, and fresh thermal compound application. |
| Trace Restoration (If Damaged) | +$20 per trace | Rebuilding severed copper circuit pads/traces under optical magnification if a port was ripped off the board. |
What Happens If Your Console Repair Changes Scope or Needs Additional Parts?
During flat-rate repairs—such as replacing an HDMI port or USB-C connector—underlying board damage like torn circuit traces or shorted management ICs (like the Nintendo Switch M92/BQ chips) can only be uncovered after the damaged port is removed under microscopic inspection. If your repair requires additional work beyond the original flat rate, we will pause immediately and present an updated repair estimate for your approval before proceeding.
If you decide to decline the updated scope of work, you have two flexible options:
-
Zero-Cost Donor Surrender: You can choose to leave the console with us to be recycled or used for donor parts on future repairs, and you will owe $0.
-
Reassembly for Pickup: If you prefer to have the console reassembled and returned to you, our standard $50 solder bench minimum applies to cover the microscopic diagnosis, hot-air board prep, and reassembly labor. (Note: This reassembly policy applies exclusively to flat-rate port services that change scope; consoles entering our standard RCA diagnostic workflow follow standard diagnostic bench terms).
Please note: Once a damaged port has been desoldered from a circuit board, the console cannot be restored to the exact physical condition in which it arrived.
